Waseda University - 1831 version of Danshichi by Kunisada with a different actor, of course Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Danshichi Kurobei enters a room wearing a robe decorated with fish and octopi, which are indications of his profession as a fishmonger.

The triptych that this is from is an illustration from a scene in the play Natsu Matsuri Naniwa Kagami (夏祭浪花鑑) or one of its many variants. in the center panel, not shown here, is Tokubei, a fellow who started out as an archenemy to Danshichi, but who ends up as a blood-brother. The missing left-hand panel shows Okaji, Danshichi's wife.
