Biography:

So far we know little about this artist. From a family of fabric dyers. He studied under Keisuke Serizawa (芹沢銈介: 1895-1984), a well-known fabric designer.

The New York Public Library says of this artist: "Best known for his kimono and obi patterns, the 20th-century Japanese artist Kojima Tokujiro was also active as a printmaker." He produced 12 katazome (型染) prints based "...inspired by Franz Schubert’s (1797–1828) 'Winter Journey' or Winterreise."

His work can also be found in the collections of the National Crafts Museum in Japan.
