We do not know when this actor was born, but we do know that he died in the 11th month of 1864. He held this name from 11/1844 until his death.
Kabuki21 wrote: "Ichikawa Dannosuke V was a talented 19th century Ôsaka actor, who was specialized in female roles. He spent almost 20 seasons in Edo, where he became quite popular. He went back to his native Kamigata at the end of his career and reached there the prestigious jô-jô-kichi rank. He excelled in nyôbô or toshima roles."
