Biography:

Almost nothing is known about actor, neither his birth or death dates. He was a disciple of Nakayama Genjjūrō I and was known to have been performing in the 1860s.

He appears in a triptych by an unknown artist from ca. 1856-57 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston; in 1863 prints by Toyokuni III; in Kunisada II triptychs from 1864, 1865 and 1866; in triptychs from 1863 and 1864 by Kunichika.
