Biography:

A master carver who worked with a number of publishing houses, including Kiya Sōjirō, Fukuda Kumajirō, Tamura Tetsujirō and Nakamura Mitsu from as early as 1877 to as late as 1890. Artists whose works he carved included Yoshitoshi, Chikashige and Kunichika.
