Biography:
Ōtani Tomoemon IV takes this stage name in 11/1831. Another actor also performed using this name at the same time. The one we are dealing with here was referred to as the Edo Tomoemon and the other one as the Osaka Tomoemon. He used this name until he died.
Tomoemon IV was the father of Ōtani Hiroji V (1833-1873).
