Biography:
Ebijūrō II was born in Osaka in 1806 and died on the 24th day of the 11th lunar month of 1829. He held this name from 11/1828 until his death. He was the son of Ebijūrō I (1777-1827). In 11/1815 he received the name Ichikawa Sukezō I. In 11/1817 he became Ichikawa Ichizō II.
Ichikawa Ebijūrō II was a promising Ōsaka actor, who followed in the footsteps of his father as a tachiyaku or jitsuaku actor. He unfortunately died too young.

The Kamigata Ukiyo-e Museum wrote that he "was the son of Ichikawa Ebijuro I. He called himself Ichikawa Sukezo and made his debut in Osaka in 1815. In 1819 [sic - it was actually 1817] he took on the stage name Ichikawa Ichizo II and travelled with his father between Edo and Kamigata. In 1827 his father, the first Ebijuro, passed away, and in 1828 he took on the stage name Ichikawa Ebijuro II. However, in 1829 he died of illness."
