Physical description:

Illustrated in Ukiyo-e: The Art of the Japanese Print by Frederick Harris, fig. 165: "The crow was one of Koson's favorite birds. In this print, a solitary crow perches on the snow-covered bought of a tree, calling out into the wilderness. We can sense the crow's intelligence, persistence and power. The touch of red visible in its mouth provides a dramatic contrast to the largely monochromatic print."

Another version of this print is illustrated in a small image in Crows, Cranes and Camelias: The Natural World of Ohara Koson 1877-1945. It is listed as K5.8 on page 171.

There is another copy of this print in the Worcester Art Museum.
